We enjoy our techy rumours here at DW Towers and I have been watching and eagerly awaiting news of the iPad 3. Well the rumours are that it will be released in March this year.
The rumours continue that the iPad 3 will bring the hardware up to date with the iPhone 4S and the obvious speculation of whether Siri will be enabled. The usual increases in battery life have been talked about but there are also a few rumours of a price reduction for the iPad 3. A $100 reduction that has been rumoured would put Apple’s competitors under further pressure.
The Windows 8 tablets will arrive later this year as well as the new Android tablets too so Apple’s timing of the iPad 3 is crucial. It would follow suit for a March release after the iPad 2 was released in March 2011. The most intriguing rumour is that there will be TWO iPad releases this year. The iPad 4 has been linked to an October release date with enhanced hardware capabilities. Again this is said to be released this year to double knock the sales of the Windows and Android tablets.
Until these rumours are confirmed that is all that they are. Rumours. But the more you search Google the more articles you find. Technorati is getting littered with them. If they go ahead with the iPad 3 price drop it will be interesting to see how many who have had the original iPad decide to upgrade to the 3 or maybe wait for the 4. That’s a decision that I will be having a think about myself.
Apple are making sure they stay the front-runner for tablets, this year will be interesting to see how the competition measures up. If Apple stays a step ahead they will be hard to catch. But we knew this. Right?
