Finding the time to play video games

Sounds stupid right? But for me time is never my own any more. I was never a massive gamer but there were a few titles that kept me occupied for weeks and weeks. I find that I invest more time in a video game franchise than a title on its own.

Of that list here are some of my favourites; Assassin’s Creed, Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, The Legend of Zelda and Silent Hill. Finding the time to really play these games for the required time gets difficult when you get all grown up and have other responsibilities. I think I might need to set up a reward system for me, the kids have one for gaming so I definitely deserve one too.

We used to have half a bookshelf full of games until I moaned about it needing to be dusted frequently. We then decided to hold onto our favourite franchise games and also any games that were special edition. I do like the tin editions of my favourite game franchises. Yep, I do. So then with the bookshelf of games just down to one shelf (and a bit) we then sold our other video games.

I’m not sure that the money we made was re-invested back into more games as we haven’t bought any for ages now. We have pre-ordered GTA V, of course! Not sure when we will find the time to play it but it’s an absolute must have for us.

Grand Theft Auto V is out on September 17th and is the most expensive video game ever with a budget of $265 million! The game should make around $1.57 billion in its first year.

Check out the trailer below;

Roll on the 17th and hopefully I will reward myself with some game time!

Do you have a favourite franchise video game?

When do you find the time to play video games?
