As a nurse, I obviously see the need for medicine and there obvious good effects, but I also am a great promoter of what natures provided in relation to beauty, health and well-being. I’d like to share over the coming weeks tips/ideas in regard to just that.
So first up: drinking water :D. Yep that old nutshell….. You do realise that when your feeling thirsty your body’s telling you it’s feeling dehydrated?? Did you also realise the sensation of thirst declines with age? The recommended amount of water to drink daily is approx 1.5-2 litres a day. Yup, sounds a lot and until you get used to drinking the right amount a day it feels a lot too :). And trust me I’m as guilty as everybody when it comes to slacking….. But in reality it’s only 6-8 glasses a day. Spread over the day, in juices (sugar free pls) fruit teas, carbonated or still, from a glass, bottle or mug, you truly will notice the difference. Drink a glass on rising and one at bedtime there’s 2 already 🙂 a glass at each mealtime= 3/4. Hey we’re at 5/6 already 😀 carry a bottle with you there’s approx 1 or 2 on the go. Yes you will feel a bit slooshy, but guaranteed you’ll also feel fuller and eat less food, thus it may even help you lose a few pounds.
The point is water accounts for, in woman 50% & men 60% of our body weight. We need it to function and the systems within us to function. Like a car with fuel, if we don’t top it up, we’ll konk out…… So grab a glass or 8. Your body will thank you for it :D. Soapgirl
