In the movie world sequels tend to be watered down versions of the main event. Clinging to their coat-tails and hoping for some of the adulation the first movie brought….. Some sequels tho, can stand on their own 😀
Once again Walt Disney Pictures struck gold with Toy Story 2…..the adventure involves our heroes Buzz and Woody again. Beloved characters from the first movie have their rightful places in the sequel Rex, Slinky, Hamm, Mr Potato Head to name a few and fun new additions come in the form of Jessie the yodelling cowgirl, Bullseye and Stinky Pete (the round up gang)
The story begins with Andy heading to cowboy camp whilst a broken Woody stays at home awaiting repair. On a rescue mission of his own, Woody ends up being stolen from a yard sale and into the clutches of an enthusiastic toy collector…..the one and only Al from Al’s Toy Barn.
The storyline becomes twofold, Woody’s discovery that he’s part of a round-up gang and the excitement of seeing his background & meeting his gang. The second storyline is the rescue team, of Buzz and friends, who head off to Al’s Toy Barn. Even more exciting is the meeting of the ‘real’ Buzz Lightyear who captures our Buzz and the adventures that befalls each of them. Meanwhile Woody is trying to work out how to get home rather than join the round up gang who are all going to a museum in Japan. Getting confused……
How does it end? What happens to Woody? What happens to Buzz? Why is Stinky Pete the prospector stinky? Who’s Emperor Zurg? Hands up who wants to go to Pizza Planet?
Well now I’ve got you intrigued I advise you to watch it, you will not be disappointed.
The second movie has it all and some. It’s for adults and children alike, with messages as deep as your psychology let’s you…..
It has you clapping at the end and wanting all the characters in your toy collection and the movie on your DVD shelf. It looks as gorgeous as it sounds, and you get lost in the characters from the get go. As Disney promises, it’s magical 😀
