How to get involved with WWF Adoption

 The facts:

  • This charitable trust was founded in 1961, their ethos, to protect and maintain the planet thru conservation, sustainability and climate change.
  • It is the the worlds largest independent conservation organisation
  • It has over 5 million supporters worldwide
  • Works in more than 90 countries
  • the panda logo of WWF originated from a panda named CHI-CHI that was transferred from the Beijing Zoo in the same year of the establishment of WWF. Symbolising what the organisation wanted, an endangered but very recognisable animal, Sir Peter Scott designed the logo we all know today.

Their Mission:

“to halt and reverse the destruction of our environment”

Adopting an animal

“Provide help to an animal in great danger of extinction for as little as £3 per month and make a connection that lasts.”

There’s a range of 10 different animals you can adopt eg pandas, tigers, dolphins, orang-utan, Asian elephant to name a few 😀

They come as a gift pack and cuddly toy.

The gift pack contains a cuddly toy of the animal chosen, a greeting card, a certificate a facts card re the species and tips for a ‘greener’ lifestyle, a magazine that comes 3 times/year and regular updates re your specific adopted animal. Perfect as a gift, delivery is two weeks postage. If it’s a last minute gift you can receive a gift certificate for the big day and the present will arrive after 🙂

It’s a great way to introduce your children to conservation.

The WWF is here to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature.
