The holidays have arrived and, if you have children, you can’t see an end to what seems to be the longest stretch of rainy days. The kids are bored, stuck indoors and driving you up the wall. They end up either sat in front of the TV watching something with a theme tune that will stick in your head, or spending hours on their favourite console. I have come up with a list of ideas to peel them away from the goggle-box without having to venture into the rain:
Easter egg hunt
Celebrate the fact its Easter with an indoor easter egg hunt. The idea of the game is for the grown-ups to hide the eggs around the home, giving the children clues to find the eggs. This is a fun and easy game to do with the kids, the children will love it as it is like a little adventure for them and they get either chocolate or a new toy at the end of it. The children could also dress up in fancy dress to make it more fun. I am going to give this game a go this weekend, let me know how it goes for you if you do it.
Bake a Cake
All children love to bake cakes for their parents or even grandparents. If your anything like myself, not the best at baking cakes, you can just use a cake mix from the shop which only takes around 15 minutes to bake and you can get the mixture with your children’s favorite cartoon character on them. For the more adventurous bakers there are great websites around offering baking ideas for children ranging from fairy cakes to cookies. Please see below some great websites for baking ideas.

Dress up and putting on a show
If your child is anything like my little girl they love to dress up in either fancy dress or their parents clothes. So why not let them put on a show for you. They could sing, dance or even do a play for you. We all know children love nothing more than playing, dancing, having fun and entertaining the whole family. You could also record it on your phone or camcorder so the little ones can watch themselves back having fun.
Arts and crafts
Every child loves to make things, so why not let them make an easter egg which you could decorate with your child’s favourite cartoon character. Here is a great website for decorating ideas for your egg.
