As mentioned in my Hall of Fame post about Pulp, I am so in love with Jarvis Cocker. Anything with him in is just fine and dandy by me, but luckily Pulp know how to make a good video too. Not as adventurous as “Mishapes”, and without dance moves like “Common People”, I still think this video is brilliant. Telling the story of a group of teenagers, the video also moves to shots of the band performing in a artfully messy flat. I really love the way the camera spins around and over the various scenes. Particularly Jarvis lying on a bed singing. Sigh.
My absolute favourite Pulp song of all time, I think this video is the perfect accompaniment. Although. the video really could have just been a poster saying “Watch this” while they played the song, I love it that much. Well done Pulp, you’re as brilliant as ever.
