It’s safe to say the wrap up of 2012 will be filled with new gadgets to look forward to. What with the rumors of the iPhone 5, the iPad 3, Microsoft’s Surface tablet, iOS 6, the new XBox, and much more, business is sure to be booming in time for the holidays.
And the release of Windows 8 is only going to add to the increasing consumer demands that are bound to come.
The Surface will be an introduction to Windows 8, but let’s not forget that beginning in October, all Microsoft products will feature this highly anticipated product. Computers, laptops, tablets, everything.
And as Mashable highlights, what Microsoft is doing between now and then is rather smart: offer customers who buy new products before Windows 8 is released to the public in October a $14.99 upgrade to it when available. Because let’s face it, business must always go on, and Microsoft really can’t risk to lose too much of it now that it’s ready to say when its new software will be ready. Plus, $15 bucks a few months down the line won’t be breaking the bank for most of us. I like that.
In fact, I’m liking Microsoft, Amazon, Android, and Google a lot more than I like Apple lately. That’s always been the case, but I think these companies finally have their own sort of edges over the Apple Empire finally. Affordability, simplicity, open source software, flash, and so forth.
All that’s needed now is for Windows 8 not to disappoint. I can’t say I’m not nervous about that, though. The last thing the world needs is another collapse from a big company like Microsft that can relate to the follies that RIM is experiencing over Blackberries.
