I think we all know what the first thing on the list of things that I want from a user manual will be but you know the rest needs to be said too. I think we have all struggled with a rubbish user manual in our lives, thrown one away in rage and maybe even torn one up in extreme rage. You might also be one of these people who refuses to use a user manual and wonder why in a few weeks that the screws that didn’t seem to go anywhere in said product, now seem to have found a use as said product has fallen over.
So here are my 6 things that I need from a user manual;
Easy to read and clear instructions
Obvious I know but the number of times I have read a manual and it’s made no sense to me how it’s supposed to go. You can tell the companies who invest time to actually know their product and actually involve testers to actually put the product together. These always have the best manuals.
Good drawings
