Meet the Wafflers: Our Lady of Literature, Sarah K

Every Sunday, dailywaffle.co.uk brings you a quick 60 second interview with a different member of our writing team. Answering our questions this week is the amazingly talented Sarah (@waxedpaperdoor)

What / Who inspired you to write?

I was inspired to write mainly from having read so many books growing up. They taught me about plot, structure and character arcs. Then when I was at university studying English, my tutor encouraged me to do as much creative writing as I could because he knew that I enjoyed it, which included a six part period drama that is still in a drawer gathering dust!

After I discovered the internet, and fandom, I started writing short fics which later grew into longer ones, and wrote for a website that was sadly short-lived. Now I just do it for fun and because I have too many thoughts in my head and they all need to go somewhere.

What topics do you most enjoy writing about and why?

I enjoy writing about anything and everything. I harbour a dream of one day becoming a screenwriter and writing the kinds of films that I want, so I tend to scribble down a lot of film ideas.

Name 3 of your favourite blogs to read

I don’t tend to read a lot of blogs; most of time spent on the internet is spent looking through Tumblr and reading web comics like xkcd.

Give me one fact about yourself

I collect cacti (this is true).

What is the most blatant lie you have ever told?

That Chris Kirkland the goalkeeper is related to me – he’s not!
