As many of you know, I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and I suffer very badly with my facial hair. I personally find it embarrassing and unsightly, and I have tried so many things to get rid of it. Electrolysis was not recommended as the problem is so widespread. Waxing made my very sensitive skin sore. Tweezing is time consuming. Laser treatment did nothing for me. Shaving, of course, works in the short term but even the very best foundation does not cover 5 o’clock shadow. However, there is hope.
I had never used an epilator before. My friend told she had one for her legs but didn’t use it as, and I quote, “It felt like I was trying to torture myself for information”.

Has been a total godsend. It is, as it states, small and compact and takes two A sized batteries.
An epilator is essentially lots of tweezers that open and close on a rotating head. It rips the hair out right from the root, leaving a smooth finish.
This tiny little thing is very noisy, just a warning, but that is honestly the most negative thing I have to say. If you operate it as per the instructions the results are amazing. Exactly as recommended, I hold my skin taught and move in quick, light circles over my skin. Rather than keeping it in one area until all the hair is gone, keep it moving all over the area you are epilating. When you look down at the amount of hair collected near the head, you will be shocked. It is amazingly effective.
It is, as to be expected, a little painful- but it’s more uncomfortable than agonising. It does leave skin a little red but that soon dies down. I am so impressed at how amazing it is for such a reasonable price, and I really cannot recommend it enough. If you use this and experience any persistent rash, long term irritation or broken skin, please stop using immediately. This product is suitable for the face, bikini line, underarm and for small touch ups on the leg or arm.
However, this doesn’t work very well on bony areas such as your chin or jawline. But that is where this amazing little gadget comes in

This spring looks like the most bizarre beauty gadget ever, but it’s just amazing. You hold the spring in a curve against your face, and then straighten it. The coil grabs hair and then as you roll it away from you, it will pull the hair with it. It’s that easy. As it is so small and flexible, you can use this anywhere- the upper lip and eyebrows are very easily done with this. It is not very painful, you will only feel a tiny twinge as the hairs are pulled out. This also works amazingly on even the shortest hairs or stubble.
