The film isn’t out until July 24th to the UK so I can’t yet add my review to Cars 2 but already after early viewings the film have received rotten tomato status. Whilst this site works on the average of the reviews it receives I’ve yet to find a particularly positive review of Cars 2.
The film is said to appeal to younger audiences but older audiences will apparently find fault with many aspects of the film particularly in the storytelling. This is a massive shame and quite frankly shocking as although critics are known for their harsh reviews, they have loved Pixar.
Pixar have been particularly heavy on the viral campaign for Cars 2 for many months and it was expected that this would be another hit. Obviously it’s still early and sometimes it could be wrong to listen to early reviews but people are now wary…
Don’t forget that there is a Toy Story short before Cars 2.
