I’m Lord Smithlewick-Broadcoat and I’ve been asked for my comments on the Prime Minister’s remarks in the House of Commons yesterday when he told a lady MP for the Labour Party to “calm down dear”.
First of all I’d like to say good morning to all the chaps and say a very special hello to all the lovely ladies out there and what an honour it is to be asked for my opinion on the whole sorry business.
I say it is a sorry business because I was shocked. Shocked because I could not believe there was a little lady in the House yesterday during PMQs. We should be protecting these little darlings from all the nasty cut and thrust of Party politics not subjecting them to it from the front bench and I am sure that was what my good friend Mr Cameron was trying to do when he uttered those fateful words.
The person whom I feel most sorry for in all this is our Prime Minister. I mean fancy having to converse with Labour MPs. How utterly dreadful! It’s no wonder he forgot himself for a moment and slipped into Bullingdon Club mode. I tell you, those were the days. Me, Dave, Bozzer Boris, Squiffy, Squidgy, Timbo, Jezza all ruling the roost and if we fancied telling a lady to calm down, by Jove we did!
There has been such a hullabaloo over his remarks but one question has not been asked by anyone. Well not asked until now for it seems only I am brave enough to ask it. Where was Dave’s butler, Nick Clegg, in all this? He should be protecting the PM from such nonsense. That’s why the Conservative Party entered into coalition with the Lib Dems. So we could have an effective shield for when we implement all our dastardly plans, sorry, I menat plans for recovery. Where was Clegg? He was nowhere to be seen. So the next tine our Prime Minister says something you may disagree with don’t balme him. Do what you have been doing since May last year. Blame the Liberal Democrats.
Chin chin!
