Nouvelle Vague (band)

This little French band entertains me on a Sunday morning 🙂 Now obviously Marc Collins and Olivier Libaux aren’t right in my room, though sometimes it feels pretty close. Their music is one of the many “lazy Sunday” feels I go for. Described as a French musical collective, their name is a play on words, meaning ‘new wave’ in french and “bossa nova” (new trend) in Portuguese. This automatically suggests to you, their Frenchness and artiness……

You may not have heard of them per-say, but I’m sure you’ve heard them providing the background music in one of the shows you’ve watched, for example, Sugar Rush, Hollyoaks, Mr & Mrs Smith, The Hills, Greys Anatomy, LA Ink, Mistresses, and in comercials in the UK. The band puts their own ‘lounge style’ feel to bands like The Clash, Joy Division and The Cure; to songs like ‘teenage kicks’, “just cant get enough’, Billy Idols ‘dancing with myself’.

Definitely worth a listen 😀 This band has been around for a few years, but have you checked them out yet……

{not to be confused with the French new wave which is nouvelle vague (film), which is an interesting subject all of its own}
