On this earth, we all appear small, somewhat like a caterpillar. As we grow and develop our true nature shines thru, like the butterfly 😀
Like butterflies we are all beautiful in our own unique way. If we are closed to others, like closed wings, we are also hidden; wings wide open body exposed, we reveal our beauty and attract attention. The simple flap of our wings causes a ripple effect.

In the western world the symbol of the butterfly represents freedom, fun and joyous times. It also symbolises a state of naturalness and purity.
Some associate a butterfly with the passing away of someone and there have been several reports of butterfly sightings by grieving ones on or around the time their loved one died. Like a last visitation and reassurance that it’s ok to let go, to say goodbye. The butterfly is seen as rebirth after death…..
Butterflies can signify change, whether a change of direction or a change of mind, or inner development. I can imagine the process from caterpillar to butterfly is not an easy and pain free procedure. It’s an amazing month long transition from one to t’other. No-one likes change, but to break or form a new habit it takes 27 days straight (a February sized month) Like the butterfly, to go thru and maintain a change it takes a month. But the transformation lasts a lifetime.
A butterfly can be seen as fragile, damage the wings and it can no longer fly…..but it also can be seen as a free spirit, fluttering around spreading its beauty, stopping long enough to be enjoyed but not long enough to be hurt…..
Butterflies in feng shui are a symbol of joy and longevity in relationships.
I love butterflies, I own several items of clothing with butterflies on them. I have butterfly accessories for my hair, necklaces and bracelets. A butterfly bag and a butterfly belt buckle.  I love their colours, their freedom, their beauty….. Butterflies are like flowers (my 2nd fave design) so pretty to look at, so intricate and so very precious 😀
Life is for living, for enjoying, for loving and laughter…….it also comes with hurt disappointment and change. If like the butterfly we can face and embrace the change, so like the butterfly we can survive the transformation 😀
