My Five Favourite Style Blogs

As a writer (of sorts) I love to read others writing, particularly style blogs- in which I have more than a passing interest. Here are my five favourites.

 1. Betty Bee http://talesfrombettybeetowers.blogspot.co.uk

Betty Bee is the absolute queen of vintage. Being as I’m a vintage lady myself (a crazy mishmash of 60’s hair, 50’s dresses and 40’s make up. I dress however I feel that morning, sometimes it’s an A-Line dress, loafers and a beehive, sometimes it’s a swing dress and victory rolls.) Betty covers a wide range of subjects relating to all things vintage. Her tutorials on make up, hair and arts and crafts are brilliant, very informative and easy to follow. Betty is an inspiration to a lot of ladies out there, having made a career for herself out of her love of vintage; she is now a successful writer for various magazines and owner of an online shop. A very beautiful lady as well, I’ve copied many an outfit from her lovely posts.

2. Sarah’s Scribbles http://www.sarahs-scribbles.com

One of my earliest followers on Twitter, Sarah is an absolute sweetheart and I adore her writing style. She is primarily a fashion and style blog, but she covers a wide range of issues and writes with refreshing honesty about her life. Her self-deprecating sense of humour keeps me giggling all day long, and her views on current events in TV and show business will keep you guffawing at your desk during the long hard days at work. I’ve absolutely no doubt there is a glittering future for this gorgeous girl.

 3. Nikki Lou http://beautifullyindependent.co.uk

The gorgeous Nikki has been a published blogger since 2010 and is a freelance writer and blogger specialising in fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Her new blog “Beautifully Independent” focuses on ethical and eco-friendly shopping. This is what I love about Nikki; all her work is accessible and fun. Nikki has a brilliant sense of humour, right up my street, which is evident in all of her writings. A very friendly girl with a lot to offer, I’m so glad of Nikki’s success to date and long may it continue.

 4. Gem Fatale  http://gemfatale.blogspot.co.uk

I love Gem, she’s so funny. A recent addition to the staff of the lovely Company magazine, Gem has been blogging since 2007 and her style focused blog is interesting, well written and a pleasure to look at. Gem is one of those oh-so-stylish people who I’d love to be, she looks great in her charity shop finds whereas I’d look like I’d been living in a ditch for a week. Gem has a passion for thrifting and customising her clothing, which I love. She was also featured on Super Scrimpers on Channel 4 sharing her money-saving tips. Her little videos and tutorials on nail art, cute gifts and the like are so sweet. Make sure you tell the people at Company all about me okay Gem? Thanks!

 5. Sera McDaid http://www.theagoraphobicfashionista.com

A recent addition to my trundles around the internet, the adorable Sera and myself have such a similar sense of style its ridiculous! Sera is such a lovely lady- with her beautiful red hair and spooky pale blue eyes. Her outfits choices suit her adorable looks- sweet-as-sugar little dresses and hair bows. She can shock us every now and again, with her foxy leopard skin numbers! Her writing is hilarious and she doesn’t shy away from any subject. She is also a fellow Waffler so you have to love her! An absolute must have; check out this lovely lady and her beautiful outfit and lifestyle posts.

About Sarah 171 Articles
Down at heels, music obsessed girl who works in admin. Frequently found talking nonsense on audio blogs, writing nonsense on written blogs or when the internet is down, talking to herself. Life lurches from one disaster to another, but at least it's amusing. I like cats and rats. My fear is they will one day form an allegiance and take over the world. You saw it here first.
