It wasn’t long ago that everyone was pinterest crazy and yes people still are but is The Fancy about to change that?
What is The Fancy?
The Fancy is much like pinterest only this time this is more consumer based, when you see something you like either on the web or even on The Fancy website itself you “fancy” it which is like pinning, liking etc. It is a photo sharing experience that also enables users to make money with referrals and also if someone purchases an item that you have “fancied”. I have been using The Fancy for a few weeks and it doesn’t immediately have the same pull that pinterest did for me and I know I have not used the site now in about a week.
To be successful with this social sharing service will take time as you are rewarded for how you curate your categories and there is a visible credibility rank given to users. I have probably spent at most an hour using it across the last few weeks and I have 6 followers (woohoo!) from 121 things that I have fancied but I have a rank of 37. I’m not sure if that is good but it’s better than 36!
One of the big factors for me is how much better The Fancy’s apps are compared to pinterest. Photos are cleaner and clearer and load times are much better. Also they keep loading more photos unlike the pinterest app that will only let you load a certain number.
I’m not really sure if The Fancy is going to compete with pinterest or be the next big social sharing site but I can see that the site has much promise and the main category that seems to be popular on there is fashion. So I’d recommend all fashion bloggers to have a look at it and get involved. I am going to keep going with The Fancy, because you never know who might buy it out and then you might get left behind…
