Dan dan-dan-dan-dan dan dan dan, dan dan-dan-dan-dan dan dan dan….. Sorry about that. You see whenever I think about the release of the latest James Bond film, Skyfall, the epic theme tune jumps straight into my head. That’s right, after four long years waiting, Daniel Craig (Cowboys & Aliens) is back in his third instalment as the British super spy. After falling in love in Casino Royale, and whooping some major ass in Quantum of Solace, this time he’s setting his sights on M (Dame Judi Dench – Jane Eyre) as her past comes back to haunt her.
The latest director to throw his hat behind the wheel of the James Bond Juggernaught is Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Jarhead), and he’s brought with him a very respectable cast for a James Bond film. Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter) and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) star opposite Craig, with Helen McCrory (Harry Potter) and Berenice Marlohe (Happiness Never Comes Alone) play the now infamouse Bond girls. The film also see’s Ben Whishaw (Layer Cake) become only the fourth actor to play ‘Q’ in the franchises long history, taking over from John Cleese.
As with any James Bond film you will get people telling you they love it, they hate it, they’ve sold out, they’ve moved on etc etc. From the trailer, you will see it looks like your typical Bond film with gadgets, ladies, explosions and high action. What more could you ask for?
