How To Do Trendy And Not Look Bad

Fashion trends are crazy, sometimes they’re fabulous and sometimes they’re just wrong.

It’s fun to try out a new style or trend; it’s new, it’s different, it sort of makes you feel like a super model and gives you extra confidence.

When it comes to clothes, fashion and trends you don’t necessarily have to buy something because it’s in style; you essentially want to have a wardrobe that will last a long time; through years and new trends and guarantee that you’re always going be stylish, like when you need to be, not on hoodies and Uggs days.

As hard as it may be you don’t really want to fall for every trend, because they may not suit you and just because you have something that is “so hot right now” it doesn’t necessarily make you stylish.

The best way to incorporate new trends (if they really suit you) is to do it sparingly so as not to look tacky.

Here are some of my top tips for dealing with new styles and trends:

Find out what the hot colours of the season are and pick up a few accessories in those shades to add to your outfits. Accessories really are the easiest way to incorporate current trends into your wardrobe.

Shop around, don’t settle for anything less than the best and make sure you really love what you’re buying; you don’t have to buy it just because everyone else is.

Dress for your body shape; flaunt your assets and camouflage your flaws (well have them, no one is perfect). No matter how trendy an item is, if it doesn’t suit you it’s not gonna make you look or feel good.

Now I’m not old but I’m certainly not a teenager anymore, it’s important to remember that a lot of styles and trends are designed for the younger folk; you really don’t want to embarrass yourself.

Be creative; being stylish is not based on trends, it’s based on your individuality and how you incorporate and use what’s trendy with what you already have.

This is number one and my most important tip: Choose quality over quantity e.g. instead of buying a new cheap handbag every month or every time you’re going on a night out, save and splurge on a fabulous one that’ll last forever and that goes with everything.
