You know when you go to visit friends and relatives over the holiday season or when everyone comes to visit you and everyone gives and receives like only wine? Yeah I hate that, it looks like no thought was put into the gift at all. “Oh here’s a bottle of wine that was on special in my local shop thrown in a crappy gift bag, oh look I didn’t even write on the tag!”
The way I see it is, when buying gifts if you haven’t put any thought into it or if you know that the bottle of wine is going to sit in the recipient’s cupboard until they can pawn it off on someone else next Christmas, then there really is no point in giving a gift at all.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be something Christmas themed or inspired, but homemade foodie gifts are so nice to give, it’s like they’re just made with love. Infused salts or oils, preserves, cookies or cakes are always well received, inexpensive and easy to make.
Hand Wash and Lotion
I think a nice hand wash and lotion set is perfect to bring to someone’s house as a token gift. They look good and you know for sure that they’ll be used. It looks extra special if you know their bathroom/kitchen colour scheme so that you can get a matching set.
Candles
Seriously who doesn’t love a nice candle. They’re so lovely and comforting plus you can find some gorgeous ones that would be cheaper than most bottles of crappy wine. Plus you know the candle will be used around Christmas especially with this icky cold dark weather.
A Christmas Tree Decoration
A single Christmas tree decoration is such a lovely thoughtful gift especially is it represents the recipients likes or personality. Plus every year when they’re decorating and they hang that gift on their tree, they’ll think of you, and who wouldn’t want to think of you!
