Made In Chelsea S05E11: The Finale!

made in chelsea

Happiness could only last so long for the lovable Andy Jordan in Chelsea. Last week he had it all: the parties; the friends; the girl. But the girl has turned into the monster known as ‘Spencer’, and done a vanishing act over night.

Yes, you read that right. Louise Thompson, the victim of constant cheating and general disrespect has only went and done the same to the ‘nice guy’! It’s almost like the whole ‘bully victims turn into bullies themselves’. And to make it worse, she tried to blame Andy for it, saying he was “sh*tting all over their relationship”. No, Louise, I’m pretty sure you did that when you avoided your phone overnight, lied about your whereabouts and spent the night at a boy’s house who you had admitted you fancied. Her cockiness when Andy confronted her was shocking; he had every right to be angry yet she claimed he was “overreacting” and just kept rolling her eyes. Overreacting? All I can say is: Pot. Kettle. Black.

How many times has Louise overreacted this series alone?!

My heart actually broke into a million pieces when Andy arrived at Stevie’s door, practically in tears at the realisation Louise wasn’t so perfect after all. Andy genuinely is the nicest guy, he just needs to find a nice girl to match. I’m not saying Louise is a bitch, but she definitely is not ready for a relationship. It made my blood boil when she asked Andy if she could be friends with Spencer, because he was. It was blindingly obvious that her motives were not just friendly, and that she is still obsessed with Spencer. Which is why it probably wasn’t a good move from Mr Matthews to tell Louise “there will always be a part of me that loves you”. What would Lucy have to say about that?

I was so relieved that the Chelsea girls actually stood up to Louise and confronted her about her actions, rather than automatically taking her side. Millie, the constant voice of reason, left Louise in tears (of the crocodile variety, I believe) after confronting her for her bad behaviour. As true to Chelsea style, this confrontation, and the consequent chat with Andy, was in full view of the rest of the cast at a party. Do they not understand privacy?!

There was hypocrisy galore during the series finale, with the incestuous foursome of Lucy, Spencer, Andy and Louise all fuelling the fire. It really struck me when Louise claimed “I don’t get jealous” during her confrontation with Andy. Erm, have you not  watched any of the previous episodes of yourself, Louise? It seems to me, unfortunately, that her heart just isn’t in the relationship with Andy, as you can’t help but get a little bit jealous if you really care for someone.

Spencer was also being very hypocritical, taking the moral high ground when he discovered Louise’s actions. Spencer, get back down here where you belong! I can’t believe how much he slated Louise for her “shocking behaviour”, when he consistently treated her the same way throughout their relationship! Despite this, it is obvious he is right (for once).

Aside from the Jekyll/Hyde Louise, there was another big shock in Chelsea. Ollie isn’t gay anymore!

Yes, weeks after breaking up with Ashley and hoping to find a nice man to start a relationship with, Ollie has actually found a girl – Fran. I was so shocked at this; after last week’s ‘setting up’ date by Binky, I was sure Fran was interested in Oscar, and it seems he was too, until he discovered she’d slept with his best friend. I don’t really feel sympathy for Oscar though, as he isn’t very likable. I’m just happy to see Ollie happy again, with his libido!

Jamie continued his ‘lost boi’ ways this week. I’m pretty sure he must have short term memory loss or something, ‘cos he keeps forgetting about long suffering girlfriend Tara! This week, he took his flirtationship with Phoebe a step too far in my opinion, by admitting he liked her and wish the timing was different so he could be with her. It seems to me he really is not ready to settle down, and is just waiting for the right opportunity to end things with Tara which makes him looks as least ‘twat-ish’ as possible. I don’t think Jamie will ever not look like a twat though.

With all this happening in one party (thrown in Jamie’s dad’s house without him knowing, tut tut Jamie!), it was obvious that the series finale would end on a bad note. It wouldn’t be very entertaining if everything ended happily, this is ‘real life’ after all!

Series 6 coming soon.
