I love a good building type of game – yep, I get crazily addicted to these kind of games. Here’s the blurb about Pocket Village from the app store page;
“The Pocketeers are here and they’re in YOUR pocket!
In Pocket Village, build a tranquil mini-paradise for your Pocketeers to live in. Trade with the mysterious balloon trader as she passes through your village. Help the cute and happy Pocketeers gather a host of interesting treasures as well as extract rare natural resources. Craft, create and explore with the Pocketeers in this lovable and attractive 5 star game”
I’m not sure how I came across this game, possibly by using the Genius feature on the app store for games that I might like. This cute little game has you building houses, making hammers, paintbrushes but before all that you have to collect everything you need. I had been playing the game for over a month before I got bored. Everything is so slow.
The idea of the game is cute and I know that if you want to progress quicker then you need to pay for that option but the free option was taking ages.
In the above screenshot of the game I had built quite a lot of buildings but I only got TWELVE pocketeers back. For each house you got one more pocketeer, even the mansions only give you one pocketeer. They were 11,000 coins and took over a day to build!
The storage was constantly full, I never got any compasses needed to expand and the toolboxes that I needed to expand the storage appeared about once a week. I definitely stayed playing this game for longer than any one should have done!
So I’ve now deleted the game and I do feel pretty bad about it as the game was very cute. But far too slow and not enough to keep me entertained, usually these types of games do keep me happy.
3/5 – Higher because I still think it’s cute but it has been executed badly.
