Champions League Preview: Liverpool to progress and City to score at least two

After yesterday’s second leg ties, tonight sees the final four teams compete. We now know that Barcelona and Ajax are through.

Tonight we have Manchester City hoping to overcome a 1-0 loss to Tottenham and Liverpool should see out their 2-0 first leg win over Porto.

FC Porto v Liverpool

Liverpool are unbeaten in their seven previous European ties with Porto and expect them to win again too. Porto have won all four of their home games in the competition so far this season, but I think Liverpool will prove to be too strong for them. I just cannot see their Liverpool defence leaking many goals.

Liverpool to win 2-0. Liverpool to win 4-0.

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester City and Liverpool are going head to head for the Premier League. I don’t think that factor will prove to be as crucial at this stage but the semi finals will add fixture changes and little time for rest.

Speaking of which, Tottenham were able to rest key players in their Huddersfield game at the weekend. That could prove crucial for this tie as Tottenham have a 1-0 win so far and could just see this game through with a goalless draw.

This match ALSO has extra spice at these two clubs meet again at the weekend in the Premier League. Then City have the Manchester Derby next week too.

Even though everything does seem in Tottenham’s favour, I still think Raheem Sterling gets a brace and knocks Tottenham out.

Manchester City to win 2-0. City to win 2–1.
