There has been a lot of news (and gossip) around what is going on at Arsenal with Unai Emery and Mesut Ozil. This all intensified last night, Emery left out Ozil for the fifth game in succession. In their Europa League tie last night they kept up their 100% record this season with a 3-2 win over Vitoria. But Emery still is facing criticism for not telling fans what is going on with Ozil.
Last night there were boos at half-time as they were losing 2-1 and supporters were heard chanting about Ozil too.
Ozil had taken to his instagram earlier in the day to wish the team well in the match.

Emery didn’t answer questions about Ozil’s omission, Emery said: “Tonight is not the day to speak about that. He’s not in the squad. That is the decision tonight. Now we are going to work towards Sunday.’
Emery has given the chance to younger members of the squad with Ozil just having two appearances across all competitions so far this season. It does look likely that Ozil will need to get a January transfer to get back to playing regular football but that will be away from the Emirates.
A stumbling block with a transfer could be Ozil’s £350k wages (per week) but there are rumours that he is happy to wait it out in case Emery should leave before then. Other rumours about Ozil going to the MLS have started recently and he’s likely to do well there and also get a lucrative offer too.
Things haven’t been great for Emery either this season, he has faced a lot of criticism for his tactics and there are mumbles that he won’t still be in charge at the end of the season.
It seems it’s all a stalemate with what Ozil’s future at Arsenal will be.
