The summer of comic book geekdom continues with Marvel’s rehashing of the Spider-Man franchise. Marc Webb is at the helm with the reboot, with Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) taking up the role of the boy-hero, with the delightful Emma Stone (Zombieland) playing love interest Gwen Stacey. The plot takes a different turn to the previous franchise, with Parker looking for information on his parents disappearance and struggling with emotions for his high school crush, Gwen Stacey. The film also stars Rhys Ifans (Noting Hill) as The Lizard , Dennis Leary (Ice Age) as Captain Stacey and Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Uncle Ben and Aunt May.
The movie looks amazing and from the short amount of footage you can see in the trailer, it looks like the gamble they have taken rebooting the franchise so quickly may have paid off, as Garfield and Stone look brilliant as the the two main characters. So its time to put on your red pyjamas, jump off your couch and give miss-cracking insults to anyone who gets in your way, as The Amazing Spider-Man is here…..
