Rose gold, so what is it? Well I would describe it as pinkish gold, our good friend Wikipedia says it is “a gold and copper alloy widely used for specialized jewellery. It is also known as red gold.”
I’ve never really worn the average yellow coloured gold jewellery, well except the tacky (in a good way) “gold” accessories you’d buy on the high street, so ghetto fabulous. I love silver and white gold; I find the yellow stuff looks, well, not good against my pasty pale white skin. But loving all things pink I was most intrigued when the rose gold trend took off.
I searched high and low for just one piece of rose gold jewellery that I liked and that didn’t cost a lot but couldn’t find anything; I wanted something modern yet classy, or even a bit funky.
I was a bit sad and nearly gave up, but then on my second virtual shopping trip on Next, I found my perfect rose gold piece or pieces rather…
Rose gold converse-y type shoes!
As if I don’t already have enough pairs of Converse already, my bedroom actually looks like a Converse factory. But I just needed these; I couldn’t not have something that was “in style!” 😉
I read the reviews as well as they only had three stars at the time, most said they ran a bit big and to order a size down, I ordered half a size down just to be safe and they fit perfectly. Also one customer said they were “too shiny and tacky” that actually sold them for me right then and there, and another bargain at only £18.
I love that they’re off white on the base and toe, unlike the bright white of Converse, which I think makes them a bit fancier. I also love the floral lining canvas lining in them; it’s the little things really. All in all I’m so happy with my rose gold find, and they’re just soooo shiny!
