Who tops the global sexy search index?

There’s often debate about which cities and countries are home to the sexiest inhabitants, so new research has turned to Google search data to try and answer the question once and for all. So, who tops the global sexy search index?

Lingerie brand Pour Moi trawled through the intimate Google searches of people around the world to discover the raunchiest cities and countries in the world – and the results make up a fascinating ‘Sexy Search Index’.  

The index was compiled by collating the numbers of searches of all sorts of sex-related terms including sex toys, sexy lingerie, dating apps, sex tips, kinks and sex positions. These were then crossed referenced with population to reveal the sexiest places per capita.  

The findings revealed that Northern Ireland’s capital, Belfast, is the sexiest city in the UK. Looking closer at the data, we can also see that citizens of the city are also searching for dating apps, sex toys and sexy lingerie the most. Two Scottish cities, Edinburgh and Dundee, take second and third spot as sexiest cities in the UK – Edinburgh is also the second kinkiest city in the UK. Slough places fourth in the UK over all, but is the sexiest city in England – the data also shows that Slough is the city that is Googling sex positions the most.

Top UK cities searching for: 

Looking at the UK as a whole, the results of what we’re secretly searching for reveals some the nation’s most intimate desires – from our sex toy of choice to our favourite sexy underwear.  

Interestingly it’s the fleshlight, a male sex toy, that tops the list of the most searched for sex toy in the UK, followed by dildos and vibrators. The UK is also searching for the reverse cowgirl sex position the most, with doggy style and missionary coming in second and third place. Brits’ favourite lingerie is stockings, then corsets and G-strings and, according to the data, we’re looking for love on Tinder the most over any other dating app.  

The nation’s most searched for: 

The research also looked at global data, to discover who is the sexiest nation in the world. According to the data, the sexiest nation in the world is Portugal – their most popular kinks are BDSM, threesomes and electrostimulation and their most searched for erotic toys are dildos, fleshlights and butt plugs. The UK comes in at second place, with fleshlights being the most searched for sex toys (along with sex dolls and dildos) and the nation’s most Googled sex positions is reverse cowgirl, followed by doggy style and missionary. In Ireland, which is the third sexiest nation, their favourite item of sexy lingerie is a corset and the world’s fourth raunchiest country is Australia – the Aussie’s favourite kink to Google is BDSM and doggy style is the sex position they are researching the most. At fifth place is Sweden, dildos are their most searched for sex toy followed by fleshlights, vibrators and butt plugs.
