6 Nations – England win the trophy but there’s much to learn before The World Cup!

England win The Six Nations

England finally got their hands on The Six Nations Trophy but simply let the Grand Slam slip away. They have much to prepare and learn before The World Cup later this year.

Scotland 21 Italy 8

Scotland were worried they would end up with the wooden spoon in this Championship but they battles through and left Italy in last place.  Italy will of course be upset with taking the wooden spoon but the highlight of their tournament must have been beating France.

Ireland 24 England 8

So much expectation surrounded England in this match and they simply let their hopes of a Grand Slam slip away. Martin Johnson summed it up correctly;

“We didn’t deserve to win; we weren’t in it, we didn’t land a blow and there are no excuses”

Ireland provided the onslaught over England who had it seemed no know-how of how to get back into the game. With France beating Wales, England won the Six Nations trophy. This defeat for England will long live in the memory for now and there’s much work to be done before The World Cup later this year.

France 28 Wales 9

Wales had a shot at the Six Nations Trophy after seeing England falter earlier in the day but it would have taken a very impressive score. Off- field matters possibly did not help in the match build-up this week with Team Sports Scientist Fergus Connolly and Defence Coach Shaun Edwards being suspended after a bust up.

France battled through and ended the Championship in second place, which some might have thought impossible at times.

Another pic of Jonny, as you lot seem to like him 😉

I’m ready and waiting for The World Cup!

Bring it on!
