I’ve mentioned before here about the importance of butterflies before and now it’s time for the Big Butterfly Count.
From today the 16th-31st of July you simply need to count how many butterflies you see in 15 minutes. There is a butterfly chart to download so you can identify what you see and then record it down and submit your results into the site.
It was launched last year and 10,000 people took part and they counted 210,000 butterlies and moths. So many butterflies are dwindling in numbers and this count is an important step in preserving these beautiful things.
So go, get counting!
