Mood Boosters

“Life is what you make it”

In today’s world with family commitments, work, stress and worries, life actually isn’t quite what we’d like it to be. No matter how hard we try, there are still things that upset the balance. I hope the list of mood boosters below will help to re-address the balance. It will be fun trying anyhow πŸ˜€

Put on a happy face

There is nothing as lovely as a happy smile. Research has shown it causes the ‘smiler’ to feel happier. Those receiving the smile automatically want to smile back and feel happier receiving the smile πŸ˜€ A smile makes you look young, fun and carefree.

Have a sunny outlook

A negative attitude is draining. Try to achieve the pint half full attitude. A sunnier attitude makes everything that bit easier to deal with.

Happiness

Think happy…… learn to be happy in yourself and not compare your life, looks and financial situation to others. An optimistic nature and a network of supportive friends gives you more control over your life and a less stressful time.

Selenium

Shown to improve moods, especially in a men’s health, having 220 mcg/day, the men(in the research program) reported feeling elated, clearheaded, confident and energetic.

Fall in love

Easier said than done! Falling in love, having crushes and flirting is all fun and triggers a rush of endorphins. The huge chemical hit inside your brain gives you flushed cheeks and a racing heart, and will make you look and feel 5 years younger. Plus it’s a lot of fun…….

Breakfast

Proved to be the most important but most forgotten meal of the day. People who eat breakfast are refuelling a rested body and providing the assistance the body needs, both physically&mentally

Beauty from within

Real beauty is about confidence and self worth and not about achieving a certain size or weight or wealth. Feel good about yourself and you will radiate an inner beauty πŸ™‚
[have learn’t this firsthand, from insecure “tubby” to confident curvy]

Pay it forward

Those who take the time to help others also get the “feel good” factor for themselves.

Young at heart

Surround yourself with all ages but especially some who are younger than you. Being around less cynical carefree attitudes, rub off and makes you feel younger too.

Your love life

Feelings of love and trust between a couple and a healthy sex life has been scientifically proved to make you feel good all over.

Tears

Research has shown that it’s good to have a good cry now and then. Tears appear to reduce tension, remove toxins and increase the body’s ability to heal itself again

Cuddles

Cuddling decreases levels of stress free hormones and boosts levels of seretonin to the brain. Every body enjoys a cuddle or hug, even if it’s a virtual one. *hugs*

It’s good to talk

Interacting with others can bring about a sense of relaxation and happiness. Especially in woman. Lol. We love to talk ;). Whether it’s face to face, by email, messaging or social networking. Talking and sharing is very therapeutic.

Laughter

Tis the best medicine……research has shown that people who laugh daily have a stronger immune system and live longer. So fight those blues. Watch a comedy, find a friend who makes you giggle and get laughing.

Seize the day

Make every day count……at the end of it you will feel more content and peaceful about things.

Me time

There’s nothing wrong about taking time out and doing something just for you.

Personally, I spent years worrying what other people thought rather than not caring what they thought and focusing on what I thought. I’ve always been a chatterbox, but it disguised a poor self-esteem in my youth. I’ve grown up a lot, realised my self worth and am less interested in what people think, but rather I focus on what’s good about me. I’m still a chatterbox but a happier bubblier one. I’m more secure regarding myself, so not afraid to talk to others and encourage them to love themselves just as much. I wish I’d had more self worth as a teen, but am blessed that I can pass on what I’ve learnt to my teens, to try and help them see their worth quicker than I did.
I hope the above mood boosters will add to people’s way of becoming happier in the world we live in.
