Yes, I realise how much you’ll be judging me over by headline, particularly after last night’s shenanigans in Chelsea which saw Spencer break up with Louise and say he hopes she “goes home and cries [her] f$&king eyes out”.
Just because I am ‘Team’ Spencer doesn’t mean I condone his brutal treatment of Louise over their year-long relationship; cheating is wrong, and so is breaking up with someone in public! Surely Spencer and Louise have houses? Why did they have to meet on the bank of the River Thames to break up? I still want to punch the arrogance out of Mr Matthews, don’t worry!
The reason I’m on Team Spencer is because Louise is just too weak, and therefore I can’t respect her. She should have walked away from Spencer months ago when it was first alleged he had been unfaithful, started dating Andy and lived happily ever after. Instead, she stuck with the bad egg, and wonders why her life is so rotten! Her behaviour throughout the break-up argument was also cringey and made me lose even more respect for her. Yes, she finally confronted Spencer, but that should have happened months ago and so doing it now is pretty pointless. It also just made her look petty; Louise should have walked away with her head up and never acknowledged the existence of Spencer Matthews again.
Shortly after their break-up, the pair met at a party: Spencer was chatting to Phoebe and Louise made a catty remark about Spencer moving on quickly. All very immature and unnecessary, don’t you think? I thought she said she was feeling totally okay after her break-up? This confrontation seems to suggest otherwise.
I’ve heard on the grapevine that Louise is now dating Andy (‘Nostrils’ to you and me) in real-life. It would certainly seem from this episode that Andy has got his game face on after discovering the end of the relationship. Although I do sometimes think he plays on it to purposefully annoy Spencer, and unleash the raging bull for our entertainment. At least Andy is more of a gentleman!
It seems that this was the week of the squirming in Chelsea: not only did we have Spencer, but Jamie and Ollie were caught in some tricky situations.
The perfect relationship of Ollie and Ashley was rocked by Ashley’s discovery of some gay porn in Ollie and Cheska’s apartment. How can she not know Ollie was bi?! But anyway, this understandably left her confidence shook and her consequent conversation with Ollie didn’t seem to resolve much. Ollie used the age-old excuses of “oh it was a present from a friend… as a joke…I’ve never watched it” (yeah right, Ollie!). This scene included enough awkward silences and facial gestures to last a whole season, but Ollie finally admitted that yes, he was bi, but he was perfectly happy being straight and being in a relationship with Ashley. Phew!
Jamie was also in a tad of bother (as per!) as Lucy revealed some hot-tub action from their skiing trip last episode. This is further complicated by Francis’ revelation that Jamie has been in a relationship with 18 year old Tara for about 6 months! Oo-er! Lucy didn’t look best pleased at this, and it’s likely she’ll try and stir things up over the next few episodes; this started in this episode when she suggested she had some texts off Jamie that he wouldn’t want Tara to see. Is she spreading rumours for her own sadistic enjoyment? Although Jamie is a self confessed ‘boi’, I’d like to think he respects Tara more than that. But going by his past treatment of Binky, that’s probably not the case.
