Music Monday: Bush – The Chemicals Between Us

I have no idea why this song suddenly popped into my head, but I remember how obsessed with it I used to be.

Bush are from London and formed in 1992. The lead singer, Gavin Rossdale, is perhaps most famous for being married to Gwen Stefani of No Doubt and being the father of British model Daisy Lowe.

This song is unusual for Bush, and perhaps why I like it so much. Despite the prominent rock riff, it is their most “dance” number and features more electronic sounds that they have used in any of their other music. The song reached number 46 in the UK Singles chart, but did however reach number 1 on the Hot 100 Billboard Modern Rock charts.

The music video was filmed in 1999 and the band have commented that it cost an obscene amount of money to make.

I do apologise for the slightly poor quality of this video, but it was the only one available!
