Music Monday: The The – This is the Day

Yes, I did get this from the final of Celebrity Masterchef.

I don’t really have much to say about the video other than I found it very amusing, probably for all the wrong reasons.

The The have been going since 1979, although singer/songwriter Matt Johnson has been the only constant member in an otherwise staggering procession of guitarists, keyboardists and so on. These have included ex- ABC drummer David Palmer, Johnny “Kiss My Shades” Marr from The Smiths and keyboard player Steve Hogarth who would go on to be the new leader singer of Marillion.

“This is the Day” only reached number 71 in the UK singles chart and failed to chart anywhere else. I thought I was the person who actually really likes it, but the youtube comments are really positive.

Seriously, I don’t know what to say about the video. I really…I’m lost.
