The Story of a Lion and a Panther

There once was a Lion named Jim and a Panther named Kim
The Lion Jim was used to his pack, safely with his parent Lions
The Panther Kim was strong, independent and always truthful
Jim had character and wisdom like no other lion
Kim had character and wisdom like no other panther
One day they found each other in the jungle of Uncertainty
As they hung out with each other, they decided to go on an adventure
An extraordinary couple of predators, which didn’t quite fit the ideal.

Other animals from the animal kingdom thought they were weird,
‘A lion and a panther, together, how preposterous!’ said the peacock with pride
‘They look nice together, but can they really keep that up?’ said the owl wisely
Their fellow panthers and lions also felt it was a weird sight to behold:
A panther and lion, together, roaming through the jungle.

The jungle of Uncertainty was one with many perils,
There were many dangerous animals, such as the Snakes of Difference,
Other competitive feline predators, like tigers and cheetahs,
The infamous Crocodiles of Uncertainty, and the Monkeys of Maturity
But none of them really mattered, as together they surpassed them all.

They hunted, they ate, they cuddled, they smiled and they slept together,
They looked at the stars and they looked into each other’s eyes
There they found the same thing which not many animals encounter
A sparkle of infinity, where they would hunt and roam together forever
But the unknown hands of Time and Fate thought otherwise.

One day, Kim moved to the Jungle of Reality,
Jim was devastated, as his soul mate from the jungle wasn’t there anymore,
He felt something was ripped out of him,
as if he lacked the strength he felt before,
His vigorous passion and determination started to crumble like a castle built of leaves
He felt lost, like he never had character and wisdom before he met Kim
Kim wandered further into the Jungle of Reality, while Jim started to move deeper into the Jungle of Uncertainty.

All the while, Kim tried everything she could to keep contact with her feline companion,
As she started to pull him back out of the Jungle of Uncertainty,
As she finally started to reach him and pull him into the Jungle of Reality,
The damage seemed to be done
She didn’t know if hunting and roaming the jungle was still the same with him

Jim found his character and determination, which already existed before meeting Kim,
Yet Kim moved deeper into the same Jungle which held Jim in its clutches
Now Jim roams in the Jungle of Reality, while Kim roams once again in the Jungle of Uncertainty.

As of today, both predators are still lost in the woods, trying to find their way back to each other
Through the vast and expansive jungles of Life
Whether they will find each other ever again isn’t up for them to decide
But what they do know is that they will never forget the time they had together in the jungle
And if time allows it, they will find their way back in the Jungle of Life, together, roaming
Once again, for every other animal to behold:
An extraordinary couple of predators, which didn’t quite fit the ideal.

Hi guys! Does anyone remember me? I made some posts a couple of hundred years back on gaming. My name is Pieter from the Netherlands and it’s been too long since I wrote anything. In the meantime I’ve started a YouTube channel (check my profile) about gaming, I am in my third year of Liberal Arts & Sciences and I just experienced my first break up in a relationship.

The last experience is where I drew the inspiration from to write this short story. I will probably be writing more and more from now on and mostly stories that just come to me, as I’m a bit done with the ‘reporting’ style I pursued in the past. If you would like to follow me when it comes to games, I’d advise you to check my YouTube channel.

Alright, see you for the next story!
