Our pets could suffer when we head back to our 9-5 office job, new research has revealed.
The research, which was conducted by leading garden office suppliers Garden Buildings Direct, found that having a pet while working from home has boosted the mental wellbeing of remote workers, it has dramatically changed the routine of our pets, who now has company 24/7.
After speaking to a number of pet experts and behaviour specialists, Garden Buildings Direct discovered that:
- WFH has disrupted what was an ingrained routine for the dog
- Our pets may suffer from separation anxiety when we return to the workplace
Pet behavioural specialists have claimed that working from home has disrupted a known routine for our dogs, which could lead to behavioural difficulties when normal life resumes. This said, research has shown that during WFH, dedicating time to our pets has made us more active and improves our mental health, which in turn boosts our energy and inspires us to be more productive while working remotely. Our dogs have benefited our WFH routine making us more active during lockdown.
