What we mean by this is that you can make use of the other senses, such as the sense of smell coupled with the sense of touch. For instance, we all know that we need to create a truly unforgettable experience, but it need not be obvious. You can always use someone’s sense of smell by choosing a memorable scent, such as the smell offreshly-baked bread or biscuits in the kitchen or fresh flowers in a bedroom. On the other hand, you can awaken someone’s sense of touch by using textures, such as embroidered cushions or textured wallpaper. The result is not easily forgotten when the other senses are heightened and brought into the picture!

At the end of the day, it all boils down to what you think works best – but saying that, don’t be afraid of that pop (or two) of colour, either. Remember that you’re supposed to create a space that everyone will love and appreciate, and showing off some colour can do just the thing. You can show off colour in different ways – in the cushions you choose for your living area, the vase of flowers or bowl of fruit in the kitchen and dining room, and more.
