A new analysis of guest reviews has ranked the dirtiest hotels in Las Vegas during the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP). Among 35 prominent properties included in the study, Flamingo Las Vegas ranked as the dirtiest hotel overall, while Wynn Las Vegas and Encore at Wynn tied for the cleanest.
The rankings revealed substantial differences in cleanliness standards across Las Vegas hotels, with an 88.1-point gap separating the highest- and lowest-ranked properties. Flamingo Las Vegas claimed the top spot on the dirtiest list, followed by The Strat Hotel & Casino in second place, Excalibur in third, Rio Hotel & Casino in fourth, and Luxor in fifth. Guest reviews for these properties frequently referenced issues including mold odors, dated room conditions, visible wear and tear, inconsistent housekeeping and rooms that were not serviced as expected.
The findings also challenge the assumption that premium room rates guarantee a cleaner stay. The Cosmopolitan ranked sixth overall despite being one of the most expensive properties included in the analysis, while Mandalay Bay finished seventh. Both properties ranked among the ten worst-performing hotels for cleanliness. Bellagio, another luxury resort, placed 18th in the rankings, further highlighting the disconnect between pricing, branding and guest-reported cleanliness experiences.
Across the dataset, housekeeping reliability emerged as the most common complaint. Reviews at Horseshoe Las Vegas, Bellagio, LINQ, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay and Excalibur described rooms going multiple days without service. The issue appeared across budget, mid-tier and premium properties alike, suggesting that guest frustration was often tied to inconsistent housekeeping rather than severe cleanliness problems alone.
The findings may be particularly notable for players staying at the tournament’s host venues. Neither Horseshoe Las Vegas nor Paris Las Vegas ranked among the cleanest hotels surveyed. Paris placed 13th overall, while Horseshoe finished 14th. Reviews analyzed in the study suggested cleanliness standards at both properties could vary noticeably from one stay to the next, with recurring complaints centered on housekeeping failures and rooms going uncleaned.
At the opposite end of the rankings, Wynn Las Vegas and Encore at Wynn shared the top position for cleanliness. The Palazzo ranked among the strongest performers in the study, while Resorts World Las Vegas also placed near the top of the standings. Guest reviews consistently praised these properties for housekeeping standards and well-maintained rooms. According to the analysis, the highest-ranked hotels distinguished themselves through consistently reliable housekeeping and room upkeep throughout guests’ stays.
The analysis was based on publicly available cleanliness ratings and guest-review data from Booking.com, Hotels.com, TripAdvisor and Google Reviews. Researchers developed a Hotel Dirtiness Index using four factors: overall cleanliness ratings, the frequency of cleanliness-related complaints, the severity of reported issues and the volume of positive cleanliness mentions. All inputs were standardized onto a common scale before being combined into a comparative index.
Overall, the study found significant variation in cleanliness standards across Las Vegas hotels. Beyond the differences in rankings, the findings suggest that cleanliness standards, room pricing and tournament convenience do not always align.
