Len Leeson, founder of Mozillion, comments:
“Pretty much everyone has a previous phone or two buried away in a drawer. However, with the cost of living starting to bite, selling your phone can be a great way of making some very useful cash to pay the bills – or, better still, to get away this summer.
Selling your handset also helps someone else find their dream phone at a nice discount, and saves a perfectly working mobile phone from heading to landfill – a win-win for everyone.
There are certain things to bear in mind which could affect the price of your phone when you come to sell though, including:
- The condition of the handset
- The make and model (certain brands such as iPhones and Samsungs are generally more popular)
- The age of the device
- Whether the device is unlocked, or tied to a network
Sometimes the perceived hassle of selling a handset can put people off – not to mention worries about getting a fair price. At Mozillion, we carry out a free diagnostic inspection that lifts your “used” phone to “refurbished” status, enabling you to make more money. Sellers on Mozillion regularly make up to £180 more than if they traded their phone in to a tech trader or their phone network. Not only this, we also provide a free guarantee, lost/stolen verification and a certified data wipe, taking the hassle away from the selling process.
At the end of the day, regardless of where you’re selling a phone, it is worth giving your ‘old tech drawer’ a spring clean. With more than 50 million tonnes of e-waste going to landfill every year, you can give your handset a whole new lease of life – and be rewarded with some extra cash for the summer…”
