No matter what genre of fashion you’re talking about, you’ll most likely find skulls somewhere in it. In recent years they’ve gone from scary to chic; we’ve gone from seeing them only on hardcore bikers to seeing them all over the runways. Instead of flaming skulls on biker jackets we’re seeing them made out diamantes on cute glittery tops. This trend is making those hardcore bikers seem like ballerinas now.
The skull craze can be found everywhere, from the high street to the hood.
My personal skull obsession started with a sneaky impulse buy from Alexander McQueen while I was in London. Alexander McQueen’s skull scarves have become almost synonymous with his label, with celebrities all lining up to wear his brightly coloured scarves. My black and white silk skull scarf is one of my most prized possessions, my guy still believes that I bought it for a couple of pounds in Primark, I have a feeling bad things would’ve happened if he knew how much it actually cost! 😉
That was honestly my most expensive skull purchase. Skull embellished clothes and accessories can be found everywhere now and it’ll be easy to find something stylish to suit your budget too.
Actually speaking of budgets, I scored a cute hot pink skull beaded bracelet, with diamantes on Ebay for like £2! It’s now my everyday go-to bracelet.
To pull off this trend without over doing it, just go for one skull item per outfit, whether that’s an embellished top or a simple bracelet.
If you find some skull item to grunge or punk for you, you can glam up the skull trend by incorporating some spring floral prints with your skull accessories.
