Perfume Shopping Tips

I love perfume, I feel sort of naked without it. I have about ten bottles of perfume and I sometimes use a different perfume every day.

I like all Michael Kors’ fragrances, and am a massive fan of the Vera Wang Princess range; I recommend that to everyone because there are so many different scents to choose from in it, it’d be easy to find one that you love.

There comes a time when all women say “I’d love a new perfume!” Well I have some tips for when you go shopping for a new scent, or for when you’re picking one to tell your better half to buy you for a special occasion.

Your scent says so much about you so picking out a new fragrance can be tricky.

– Do your perfume shopping in the morning because you’re noise can get tired and your sense of smell can weaken from daily smells and things in the air.

– Don’t eat spicy food the night before you go shopping. The spiciness will mess with your senses and will make the scent seem much stronger when you smell it than it actually will smell on your skin.

– A lot of perfume stores/counters will have little dishes of coffee beans; these refresh your senses so you can smell exactly what fragrance you’re smelling.  These are helpful when you smell a lot while shopping, just sniff the coffee beans between each one and you’re all set. If you’re unsure whether your local perfumery has coffee beans or not, just bring some with you in a little plastic bag.

– Don’t be afraid to ask for a sample to try out for a couple days. Scents sometimes change the longer they sit on your skin or when they mix in with your natural oils. It’s best to know if you love your perfume or not before handing over loads of money.

– If after all this you’re still indecisive about what perfume to buy, remember that a lot of perfumes come in smaller sizes bottles, two or sometimes three small bottles of perfume can cost just as much as one large bottle; that way you can alternate between all your favourite scents.

Happy Shopping!
