Music Monday: Friendly Fires

I am not so very old you know, and occasionally I do listen to modern music. Here is a shining example. I actually am so in love with this band it’s a little scary- I love their 80’s revival meets modern times sound. There are a lot of bands who do this, The Klaxons, The Mystery Jets, but there is just something different about this band. They’re just better, to be honest.

This version of the song was produced by Paul Epworth and is the single version. The album version was produced by lead singer Ed McFarlane. Both are amazing and I listen to both regularly. They are the same and yet not the same, which I always find fascinating.

The video is a nice literal representation of the song, which I always like. Dancing skeletons, can’t really go wrong with that can you? I’m a tiny bit in love with the way Ed dances, he’s kind of gawky and yet got some pretty serious moves.

Love this song, love the video. Well done Friendly Fires.
