Moto GP…… motorbikes make me go ooooohhhhh
So part of my sport watching this season has been the Moto Gp. I adore bikes over cars to be honest. I think there are skills in both sorts of racing; yet I feel the risk is so much higher and far more exciting to watch with the bikes, rather than the procession that can happen in the Formula One racing.
But hey, that’s my opinion. I’m not a guru and this blog post is certainly not going to give you the finer details in all things MotoGP; this is something that makes me go oooohhhh and maybe, just maybe, it’ll make you go oohh too ;D
What I would love, is my fellow writers/lovers of the Formula One sport and also our blog readers to watch the documentary “Fastest“. See a little snapshot of motorbike racing and glimpse what has me tuning in race after race. In MotoGP you watch these Bikers appear to be super human. The speed, the tracks, the bikers jostling for position. Wins and losses, both in races and lives. Injury after injury and yet a couple of races later they are pinned up, strapped on and knee droppingly awesome around the tracks. This is fast-paced racing, nail bitingly good.
This season I’ve been rooting for Cal Crutchlow (UK) He’s an excellent rider on a satellite bike, not a factory “works bike” He doesn’t have the Big boys support, nor money or sponsorship and yet he’s doing so well. Like the Grand Prix, anything can happen in warm-up and during the main event. Weather changes everything.
My husband and I watch together. Once again I’ve been caught unawares and realised I’d started watching in seasons past but without my husbands faithfulness. This year I suggested we watch faithfully together and I’ve loved it all. We watch, we gasp, we cheer, we cover our mouths with horror and stare wildly waiting for updates. We’ve had tears, laughter and forged good memories.
Johnny Rea (UK) is a “Norn Irish” lad, he rides in the SuperBikes (road bikes on track racing) This season due to a Moto GP rider (Stoner) being out for a few weeks to recover after a nasty get off. Johnny got time for two races. He was within the top 10 each race. Next season he’s re-signed for Superbikes but the season after. Who knows, he may cross over to MotoGP 😀
Sport is not for everyone, but sometimes docu-movies are made, that you don’t need to be into to enjoy watching. I feel the motorbike behind the scenes documentary “Fastest” is one of those movies. Narrated by Ewan McGregor (mmmmmm what an accent. Ahem) Fastest, is a synopsis of a racing season, the ups and downs, with on-bike footage and interviews. The riders include “The Doctor”  Valentino Rossi,  Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa amongst others. It gives you a true feel of a season and may plant the seeds to watch from the start of the upcoming season…
So if you wanna find out a little bit more about me and a lil more about MOTOGP, watch Fastest…something that makes me go OOOOHHHHH
