Farha Festival in Luxor Egypt
Egypt is arguably the home of belly dancing, and this week long event is a fantastic way to learn about the culture and the history behind the dancing. Run by Farida Adventures Belly Dance Travel Company, the Luxor Festival features live music, dance classes, lectures, shows and the opportunity to perform with a live band. The time of the event changes every year.

It may come as a surprise to many, but China has a large belly dancing subculture (with belly dance classes being run in many Chinese cities) and as such, this competition is incredibly popular in the international city of Macao. As well as the competition, there is also a famous art feast!
