In Anglo-Scottish folklore, you’ll find the Brownie – a Dobby-like elf that does your chores for you whilst you’re sleeping. Although a lovely mythical creature, if treated badly, a Brownie will turn on you. We’re pretty sure this would interest most of you reading this, who wouldn’t want their own house elf?!
In Chinese folklore, you’ll come across a mythical creature called a Baku. A Baku removes evil spirits and protects you from bad dreams. The Baku is often sewn into bedding to ensure protection whilst you sleep.
If the slightly more evil mythical creatures take your fancy, take a look at the Boggart from English folklore. The Boggart, also known as Bogeyman, is a mischievous and evil creature that lurks in dark corners, usually under the bed of children, and is known to kidnap them in their sleep. Perhaps skip that folklore, unless you want to terrify children!
