To find out, Land Rover has analysed thousands of campsites across the UK, ranking those with the highest number of local attractions and the best TripAdvisor reviews, to uncover the top camp sites for adventure this year . By trawling through Pitchup1 – the campsite and holiday park directory – Land Rover has also revealed the top spots for cycling, water sports, horse riding, luxury escapes and pet-friendly breaks.
The top 8 camping sites for non-campers and glampers
If camping, nature and the great outdoors isn’t quite your thing, perhaps glamping is more your style? Glamping often allows you access to a proper bed for the night, solar lighting and access to firepits- perfect for a romantic getaway or a holiday with friends. Our top eight allow you to stay in luxury whether that be in a very Instagrammable yurt or the very popular shepherds’ huts.
Over half of the top ten locations for glamping also do well when it comes to cycling too – providing the perfect balance of luxury and adventure. The Cheddar Bridge Touring Park is also listed as adult only, making it a perfect option for couples looking for a romantic escape this year.

The top 10 most adventurous camping sites
The research – which marks the release of the new Land Rover Discovery – crowns The Warren in Kent as the ultimate camp site for family adventure. The cliff-top campsite not only offers stunning views of the sea and chalky white cliffs of Dover, but it also has a whopping 174 family attractions in proximity too. From exploring Folkestone harbour and enjoying family adventures on the sandy beaches, to the nature trails that weave their way through The Warren – which are an important habitat for many rare plants and animals – there’s plenty to explore in the local area.
What’s more, The Warren is the only camp site in Kent to make the top 10, making it a real gem for this region of the UK.
Looking at the locations home to the most adventurous camp sites, Cornwall and Powy appear more than any other location, making them both two of the top staycation destinations this year.
