Despite this, Gen Z are actually pretty focused on living healthily with almost two-thirds (62%) saying they have felt guilty about their own habits when they saw others being healthy. While nearly all (80%) young people said they have felt inspired to be healthier due to content on social media.
When it comes to breaking those bad habits and adopting a healthier lifestyle for the rest of the population, one in three UK adults don’t know where to start and nearly half (47%) said that they felt overwhelmed by conflicting health advice.
An abundance of conflicting health news and advice has also impacted the nation’s mental health. Nearly half (44%) of those surveyed revealed they feel depressed when looking at health and wellness-related news.
The survey also revealed the top 10 UK cities most interested in healthy habits, based on the number of searches related to health and wellbeing practises in each location.
