Part-time MP, part-time TV celeb, Matt Hancock’s secret snog with Gina Coladangelo is the most shocking real-life moment to hit the country’s TV screens, according to a new survey.
The Paddy Power Games research reveals 25% of Brits highlighted Hancock’s antics as a shocking moment, more than the impatient Phil and Holly, who jumped the queue to pay respects to the Queen as she lay-in-state (21%).
Madonna (15%) and Gemma Collins’ (12%) respective public face plants on live TV, and Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent interview with Piers Morgan (14%), rounded out the top five most outrageous moments.

When asked for the most stunning fictional moment, viewers ranked Ross Geller’s blunder at the alter in Friends (16%) and David Schwimmer’s character cheating on Rachel (16%) as the highest. For a man so famously on a break, he can’t seem to catch one with the British public!
Killing Eve’s blockbuster ending (12%), and Game of Thrones’ Red Wedding (11%) also ranked highly as eye opening events.

When it comes to the most typically shocking scenes on telly, Brits believe that death scenes are the most startling (19%), followed closely by scenes of betrayal (14%) and raunchy sex scenes (10%).
A Paddy Power Games spokesperson said, “He may have somehow made it to third place in the jungle, and announced he’s standing down as an MP, but the public have made it clear that Matt Hancock’s office antics will take some beating in providing the shock factor.
“Some may be surprised to see the Red Wedding rank as low as fourth in the list. But that wasn’t even the most shocking thing about Game of Thrones – that would be the way the final series ruined the whole show.”
