‘Amazing’ £9 slippers near-identical to the TikTok-famous UGG mules!

As the weather gets colder and the darker nights begin to roll in, it’s that time of year again to stay snuggled indoors with a hot drink and a toasty pair of slippers. In fact, according to TikTok, mule slippers are having quite the moment, with over 35.6k views for #muleslippers on the platform. Google searches are also on the rise, with the amount of people searching for them increasing by 50% since last month, to 6,000 searches this September.

The comfy, fleece-lined slippers are synonymous with the UGG brand, having gone viral on social media in recent years. However, retailing at around £90, they aren’t a cheap purchase and may be well out of reach for many people who will be feeling the pinch as the cost-of-living crisis continues.

For those looking for style and comfort on a budget, low-cost family footwear retailer Wynsors has been praised by shoppers for selling near-identical slippers for a fraction of the price. Their Strollers Decator slippers retail at an incredible £9, a whole 90% cheaper than the UGG alternative. These popular slippers can be found in other colours, such as grey, both in-store and online – although shoppers will have to be quick, as they’re already flying off the shelves!

One customer, Lucy from Manchester, comments: “These slippers are amazing. They’re so comfy and keep getting mistaken for UGGs whenever I have people over. They’re a must-buy!”

Another customer, Sharon from Newcastle, also comments: “I’ve bought a pair for both myself and my teenage daughter – they are so affordable and look just like UGGs.”

Wynsors also has some handy cleaning tips to help keep your mule slippers as fresh as the day you bought them:

  1. If you want to keep suede slippers feeling soft and in top condition, it’s important that you know how to clean them correctly. Blot away any stains or spillages with a clean towel. If the stain has already done the damage, use a suede brush and cleaning solution to gently restore the suede.
  2. Remember, for suede slippers, don’t use heat. Instead, allow them to air dry and use a wad of newspaper inside to help them dry.
  3. It’s completely normal for your slippers to wear over time and develop an odour, but how do you prevent them from smelling in the first place? Dryer sheets (especially the scented variety) can work wonders; place a few sheets into your slippers overnight to help prevent odours from building up.
  4. For fabric and fleece-lined slippers, baby wipes are ideal when you don’t want to go the whole hog with washing them. Rub a wipe or two inside until dirt no longer transfers, and your slippers are good to go!
