In fact, according to TikTok, mule slippers are having quite the moment, with over 35.6k views for #muleslippers on the platform. Google searches are also on the rise, with the amount of people searching for them increasing by 50% since last month, to 6,000 searches this September.
The comfy, fleece-lined slippers are synonymous with the UGG brand, having gone viral on social media in recent years. However, retailing at around £90, they aren’t a cheap purchase and may be well out of reach for many people who will be feeling the pinch as the cost-of-living crisis continues.
For those looking for style and comfort on a budget, low-cost family footwear retailer Wynsors has been praised by shoppers for selling near-identical slippers for a fraction of the price.
