But with so many cities with so many murals, which street art hotspot is the best in the world?
To find out, Betway analysed 132 cities from around the globe, looking at the following metrics:
- The number of street art murals
- The number of Instagram posts
- The number of TikTok posts
- The number of articles with city and street art mentioned
- Engagement with articles (likes, comments, and shares)
- Average yearly Google searches
All metrics were considered to rank each city, revealing which city is the most popular for street art.

Paris is crowned the number one city in the world for street art, receiving the most engagement
Paris achieves the most street art article mentions of all cities, averaging 1,903, as well as the most article engagement over the past five years, (471,127). Average annual Google searches are also the highest here, amounting to 97,200.
Paris has the second highest number of Instagram posts behind London, at 578,413, as well as the second highest number of TikTok posts, with 848, also just surpassed by London.
London comes in second place for the most popular city for street art with the highest number of posts on Instagram and TikTok
Though London is the runner-up overall, it beats Paris when it comes to social media hype. The city has the highest number of Instagram posts (591,077), and the highest number of TikTok posts, (1,463).
Melbourne, Australia ranks in third position, with 2,317 murals in the city, the most of all locations analysed
Melbourne has the highest number of murals (2,317) in the city out of all locations in the study. It also ranks third for the most Instagram posts, having received around 356,571, and has 534 TikTok posts, the fifth highest in the list.
Berlin comes in fourth place, followed by Los Angeles and New York City.
