Sports such as Wheelchair Rugby, Para Athletics, and Sitting Volleyball have seen some of the largest surges in searches, driven by the excitement and inspiration sparked by the Games.
Team GB finished second in the medal table with 124 medals, achieving the UK Sport target of 100-140, and this new data, compiled by Better, the UK’s leading operator of public sports and leisure facilities, highlights how the Games have inspired a real enthusiasm for adaptive sports among the public. The increases of ten popular sports can be seen below:

- Para Athletics – 2,800% increase

- Goalball – 593% increase
- Blind Football – 303% increase

The biggest riser, Para Table Tennis, saw an astounding 4,468% increase in searches, topping the list as the sport that captured the most public interest. Wheelchair Rugby and Para Athletics also saw substantial growth, with increases of 1,625% and 2,800%, respectively, reflecting the excitement surrounding these high-energy events.
Notably, Goalball, Para Badminton, and Blind Football saw significant spikes in search interest, indicating a growing curiosity about these unique sports. Additional data shows that views on the Wikipedia pages of the above 10 sports rose in total by 942%, with Para Athletics seeing the biggest rise in interest, with 4,644% more views compared to the two weeks prior.
